At the end of June, the northern slopes of the Bucegi Mountains seem to catch fire when the smârdar (alpine rhododendron) blooms. Venturing off the beaten paths, participants climb toward the high plateaus of Doamnele, Colții Țapului or Bătrâna to witness this colorful spectacle, along with other early-summer alpine flowers. The tour is led by professional photographer Mihai Moiceanu, a passion for flowers, mountains and photography.
Day-by-day plan
Day 1: 09:00 – Meeting at the trailhead 09:30 – Departure on the trail toward the high plateaus of the Bucegi Mountains (Doamnele, Colții Țapului or Bătrâna) to photograph the rhododendron bloom and alpine flowers 20:00 – End of the tour The schedule may change depending on weather conditions.
