Lacul Roșu and Cheile Bicazului tell one of the richest visual stories in the Eastern Carpathians, a place where water, rock and forest meet in a rare balance. Sunrise finds us on the shore of Lacul Roșu, photographing fragile reflections, interwoven with the mist floating on the surface of the water, while the submerged trunks become graphic accents in an almost minimalist composition. We then search for the best angles for minimalist photography or for delicate shots of wild duck chicks, lined up on the trunks fallen into the water, before crossing June meadows full of wildflowers, where the light shapes a vivid, colorful and ephemeral landscape. The tour continues through the forest above Cheile Bicazului, grown on limestone, dominated by spruce, beech, fir and pine, trees adapted to this harsh substrate, so that finally, after an easy trek, we reach viewpoints from where Cheile Bicazului reveals itself from above, in a grandiose spectacle of vertical walls and dramatic perspectives. Extra day: Thursday, before the start of the tour, can be booked as an extra day, during which a medium-difficulty route above Lacul Roșu will be hiked.
Day-by-day plan
Day 0 – Optional extra day – paid separately Day 1 – Meeting of participants, accommodation at the guesthouse Day 2 – Sunrise on the shore of Lacul Roșu, breakfast, exploration of the lake in search of minimalist images. In the afternoon, easy trekking through the meadows and forests above the Gorges. Day 3 – Sunrise on the shore of Lacul Roșu. Short tour in Cheile Bicazului. End of the tour.
