FORMAT27 Open Call: PLAY

An international open call inviting photographers, collectives, and curators to submit exhibition or event proposals on the theme "PLAY" for the 2027 FORMAT International Photography Festival in Derby, UK.

Open to artists, collectives, and curators worldwide, the call selects up to five complete exhibition or event proposals responding to the theme "PLAY" in its widest sense, spanning documentary, archival, conceptual, moving image, VR, installation, publication, online and participatory works. Up to 250 shortlisted proposals go before an international advisory jury after review by the FORMAT Curatorial team, with selected projects exhibited during FORMAT27 (11 March–11 April 2027) in Derby and later in a group show at Photofusion, London.
